Diablo 96-01 Valeo Clutch Rebuild

The "Diablo Valeo" refers to a highly specialized technological showcase rather than a standard production model: it was a 1992 Lamborghini Diablo prototype fitted with an innovative semi-automatic transmission developed by the French company Valeo. This system, often called the "Valeo clutch," allowed the driver to change gears using the traditional gated five-speed shifter without a clutch pedal. An electronic actuator engaged and disengaged the clutch in less than 100 milliseconds whenever the driver touched the gear lever, offering a bridge between traditional manual and modern paddle-shift systems. While technically advanced for its time, the Valeo system was only offered as a rare option, with very few examples ever produced. The most famous recipient of this technology was a custom Diablo VT Roadster commissioned by the former Lamborghini CEO for himself. Today, these cars are extremely rare collector's items. Mechanically, they retain the Diablo's legendary 5.7-liter V12 engine, which produced roughly 485 to 492 horsepower and could propel the car to a top speed of over 200 mph
