Chris Coffey captured the 2024 GT Class Championship in the Maserati MCGT4, marking his second championship in two years with Trans Am. He previously ran a partial season in 2023 to claim the Pro/Am Championship.
“The key to success in Trans Am is consistency,” said Chris. “We work hard in the shop and throughout the weekend to keep the cars running up front. Moreover, it’s not easy to take a Gen 1 GT4 car, which is a bit long in the tooth, and have a flawless season without a single DNS or DNF.”
Over the 2024 season, Chris scored eight wins and never finished off the podium.
“No one can succeed in this sport without a great team behind them,” continued Coffey. “Alex Buruian and Xavier Willis have done an incredible job supporting me all year. Additionally, Jason Hart and Josh Hurley have provided exceptional coaching and engineering resources. Ultimately, I owe this championship to these guys and our sponsors: Traffic Grafix, Norwood Auto Italia, and Chillout.”
Colin Cohen Wins the TransAM GT Pick 6 Championship
In his first year competing with Trans Am, Colin Cohen finished the season with multiple podiums and dominated the points standings from start to finish.
“It feels excellent,” says Colin. “First, I want to thank TransAM and my team. Furthermore, Jason Hart’s encouragement never stops. Finally, I appreciate Chris, who keeps these cars on the road and in races while managing the team efficiently.”
Norwood Auto Italia Team Achievements
Overall, the Norwood Auto Italia team brought home two championships, eight wins, and eight additional podium finishes. Furthermore, they secured the Manufacturers’ Championship for Maserati, cementing a dominant season in Trans Am racing.
