The 456 GT, launched in 1993, marked Ferrari’s return to front-engine V12 2+2 grand tourers, combining high performance with luxurious comfort and four-seat usability. The GTA version introduced an automatic transmission option, while the 456M updates (1998–2003) refined styling with fixed headlights, updated aerodynamics, and interior upgrades. This series demonstrated Ferrari’s ability to create a GT car that was equally suitable for high-speed touring and comfortable daily use. Under the hood, the 456 GT featured a 5.5-liter V12 producing 436 hp, mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a rear-mounted transaxle for ideal weight distribution. Performance allowed 0–60 mph in just over five seconds and a top speed of 186 mph, remarkable for a full-sized four-seater of its era. The suspension and chassis were tuned for balance and composure, offering a ride quality that emphasized grand touring comfort without compromising driving excitement. Styling, courtesy of Pininfarina, favored understated elegance over flamboyance, with clean lines, a long hood, and hidden pop-up headlights. The interiors were spacious, luxurious, and well-crafted, featuring leather and wood detailing. The 456 and 456M remain celebrated as timeless front-engine Ferraris, blending classic proportions, V12 performance, and 21st-century refinement.
