The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S from the early 2010s is a high-performance evolution of the V12 Vantage that was produced roughly from 2013 through later years of that generation, succeeding the standard V12 Vantage and serving as one of Aston Martin’s fastest road cars of its time. It’s powered by a naturally aspirated 5.9 L AM28 V12 engine that produces around 563–565 bhp and about 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a 7-speed Sportshift III transmission (no manual was standard initially). This potent drivetrain enables brisk acceleration—approximately 0–60 mph in about 3.7 seconds—and a top speed in the 204–205 mph range, placing it firmly in supercar territory while still retaining Aston Martin’s grand touring character. Compared to the earlier 2010–2013 V12 Vantage (which made about 510–517 hp and could accelerate to 60 mph in about 4.1–4.2 seconds), the V12 Vantage S brought significant enhancements in power, torque delivery, suspension sophistication, and aerodynamic efficiency. It features three-stage adaptive damping, carbon-ceramic brakes, and aerodynamic upgrades that improve cooling and high-speed stability, alongside refinements to make it more capable on both road and track. Although the core design of the Vantage remains classic Aston Martin with its elegant proportions and bespoke interior, the “S” variant emphasizes sharper performance and responsiveness while showcasing a thundering naturally aspirated V12 note that many enthusiasts still cherish today.
