The Aston Martin DBS (often called DBS V12) was introduced in 2007 as a high-performance flagship sitting above the DB9, blending luxury with a far more aggressive edge. It’s best known for its appearance in the James Bond films Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, which cemented its iconic status. Power comes from a 5.9-liter naturally aspirated V12, producing 510 hp in early cars, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Touchtronic automatic, enabling 0–60 mph in roughly 4.3 seconds and a top speed of around 191 mph. Beyond straight-line speed, the DBS featured extensive use of carbon fiber for the body panels, a stiffer chassis than the DB9, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a more focused suspension setup. These upgrades gave it sharper handling while still maintaining Aston Martin’s signature grand-touring refinement. Produced until 2012 (with power later increased to 517 hp), the DBS is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful and visceral modern Astons, representing the peak of the brand’s naturally aspirated V12 era before the arrival of the DBS Superleggera.
