High-precision Clutch Revamps Rebuild & Replacement

How to choose a clutch

PEGA Clutch products remain at the forefront of the automotive exotic clutch revamp industry by integrating advanced manufacturing technology with cutting-edge design and engineering.

This is complemented by real-world testing of our rebuilds, which have passed 3500+ cars worldwide, and a trusted reputation for 14+ Years.

PEGA Clutch assemblies utilize proprietary rebuild/revamp Stages to configure the increased HP/TQ capacity while preventing premature failure and extending the clutch life.

All revamps or so-called rebuilds are tested for clamp opening to ensure a successful installation. With our clutch performance linings, we achieve the ultimate balance of performance and reliability.

Choosing The Right
Clutch

Choosing the correct clutch for your application requires knowing the estimated driving type you would like. Once you know the available driving characteristics or have identified what you want with what we can offer, we recommend selecting a clutch rebuild to handle the torque output you are looking for.

The selection of the correct clutch for the intended application is critical to good operation, including the characteristics of but not limited to:

– Clutch feel

– Operating temperature range

– Wear characteristics/durability

– Clamping force

– Break-in period

Quite often, the first impulse is to get “too much” clutch. This is often a very big mistake, as it compromises some or all of the operational features listed above.

The first step in identifying what clutch to get depends on the car’s characteristics.

Ask these questions:

– How much power does the car make?

– How is it used?  Street driving or track use?  If for racing, what kind of racing?

As we are dealing with extreme torque output applications here, let’s use a widely understood example

– The 2004-2008 8-cylinder Ferrari F430-series, the 2002-2010 Lamborghini Murcielago V12.  Over these years comprising different chassis, we are still dealing with virtually the same fundamental engine and transmission designs.  Power ranges from around 400hp to 800hp.  Typical bolt-on modifications bring many of the early models up to the 400hp-600hp range and later models around 750hp.  Extensive modifications including supercharging or turbocharging bring power to the 700hp-1200hp range.  The typical Ferrari or Lamborghini enthusiast uses the car primarily for sporty street driving, and the occasional auto-x or track day.  The F430 or the Gallardo is also popular as a heavily tracked car and dedicated race car.

So it is apparent that we have a broad range of power and use to contend with.

Understanding Our
performance linings

Understanding the PEGA Clutch coding of our products will help you evaluate what PEGA Clutch offers for your Application. Here is a quick reference of our performance linings. We have 3 Types of HPC-FX Performance linings.

High Performance Clutch (HPC) linings

PEGA FX4C-sc
"Organic"

Friction Material:

PEGA FX4C Clutch facing is a Woven yarn friction material. Engineered to withstand higher standards in our industry. PEGA FX4C-SC can be used in rebuilt clutch sets and is cost-friendly.

FX4C- Super Carbon is a special woven material that is designed to work at high temperatures and has a low rate of wear. It is based on OEM Spec and has been reinforced with x 4 extra copper to increase friction performance. FX4C-SC can dissipate heat, has a very stable friction coefficient, and steadily works at high temperatures with minimal wear.

 FX4C-SC is used in Stages 1 & 2

We recommend using such linings for regular and sports driving.

High Performance Clutch linings

PEGA FXSS
"Kevlar ®"

Friction Material:

PEGA FXSS Kevlar ® clutch facing is our top-of-the-line revolutionary Kevlar ® friction material. Is a high-performance, high-friction, nonmetal composite material containing a high percentage of Kevlar ® fiber. It can be considered as an alternative for PEGA BFXX Ceramic.

It will resist high energy inputs. It is not abrasive to the counter material, is silent in operation and it will resist high pressures. The wear rate is low even at high temperatures.

FXSS-SC is used in Stages 3 & 4

We recommend using such linings for performance drivers and CT Racing. PEGA FXSS requires advanced-level knowledge of the program for proper PIS settings.

Our Flagship Car Lamborghini Gallardo LP 500-4 is powered by PEGA Stage 3 Full FXSS-SC Kevlar®

High Performance Clutch linings

pega BFXX
"Ceramic"

Friction Material:

PEGA BFXX clutch facing is our Brass & Ceramic mix button clutch lining product. Specially engineered for Trofeo/challenge application and twin-turbo applications. BFXX Button facing can be considered as an alternative for FXSS Kevlar ®

PEGA BFXX It will resist higher energy inputs vs FXSS Kevlar ® facing. PEGA BFXX It is not usable for regular driving! It is harsh in operation and it will resist high pressures. The wear rate is lower vs Pega FXSS Kevlar ® and is a great product for racing applications.

BFXX is used in Stages 4 & 5

We recommend using such linings for racing applications only. PEGA BFXX requires advanced-level knowledge of the program for proper PIS settings.
